 About Me

Hi, I'm Matt Zechman. I've lived in Cleona Borough since I was born. Whether attending a Movie Night at the park or waiting for Santa to come by on the fire truck, my childhood memories are rooted deep in our beloved town. At 14, I joined Cleona Fire Company No. 1 (now the Annville Cleona Fire Department) and found the new trajectory for my life: public service. After graduating from Annville Cleona High School in 2016, I began working full-time as an EMT in Lebanon, later spending most of my EMS career with Life Lion EMS in Hershey. In 2017, I enlisted in the PA Army National Guard as a Combat Medic Specialist (68W), served one tour in Afghanistan as a CH-47F door gunner from 2019-2020, then shortly after, one year of stateside active duty to serve our commonwealth during the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2021, I founded Cleona Coffee Roasters, a business that originated in my Cleona house but later moved into Annville as more space was needed. Despite this being my first occupation in nearly 10 years that does not directly revolve around emergency services, CCR strives to build a culture that promotes kindness, donates to charitable causes, and encourages neighbors to support their fellow neighbors.

Currently, Cleona Coffee Roasters is my full-time occupation, as my seven employees and I continue to grow the business. I serve as a Captain and Chaplain with the Annville Cleona Fire Department and Health Care NCO in the PA Army National Guard. When I'm not occupied elsewhere, I enjoy time at home with my family: Megan, Max, Claire, and Crema (golden retriever). I also love hiking, riding my bicycle, coffee (I bet you could never guess), taking things apart, and occasionally, holding conversations on my ham radio.

If you ever see me and want to talk, please say hi! I'd love to have a conversation with you.

We believe in the power of local communities to shape their own future, and we are dedicated to empowering the residents of Cleona Borough to define their path and create a positive impact on our town.
